Bad news :-(
This week we had a note on our door sayin, that we have to move out of our nice house by July 2008. Reason is that these houses in Liberty Village are owned and operated by the Develeoper, Universal Services Fort Hood and only have been leased by the government under a 20 year lease agreement. Unfortunatley we are that unlucky (what a suprise) that this lease will expire on July 31 2008. According to the maintenance office theres no chance for extension :-(
Only existing chance to keep the house would be to rent them privatley next year, BUT we only get so much BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing), the money we get to live from the Army, according to rank of the soldier. In our case this would be 862$. This money would be for rent PLUS appliances.
We are pretty sure that the reason for Universal Services NOT to extend the contract with the government (an actually safe source of income for them) would be, because they want to lease the houses for MORE MONEY THAN THE GOVERNMENT HAS TO OFFER, logically means we would NOT BE ABLE to pay for the house with the little money WE GET FROM THE GOVERNMENT.
Pretty much means, we have to look for somethin else... Im VERY unhappy about that, cause I really fell in love with this house and already called it a home and now it gets taken away from us again... I mean, Army makes you move enough already, that wasnt necessary! Besides the other government and on post housings SUCK!!!
Im curious when our streak of bad luck finally ends :-(

Gestern hatten wir eine Notiz an der Tuer, die besagt, dass wir bis July 08 aus unserem schoenen Haus ausziehen muessen. Grund ist, dass die Haeuser in Liberty Village Eigentum vom Entwickler Universal Services Fort Hood sind, von denen verwaltet werden, und von der Regierung nur in einem 20jaehrigen Vertrag angemietet wurden. Leider haben wir das Pech (was fuer eine Ueberraschung), dass dieser Vertrag am 31. Juli 08 auslaeuft. Laut dem Verwaltungsbuero besteht keine Chance auf Verlaengerung :-(
Die einzige bestehende Chance, das Haus zu behalten, waere es privat zu mieten im naechsten Jahr, ABER wir kriegen nur soundsoviel BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing), das Geld, das wir zum Leben von der Army bekommen, bezogen auf den Rang des Soldaten.
In unserem Fall waeren das 862$ (ca.597 Euro) fuer Miete PLUS Wasser und Strom, etc.
Wir sind uns ziemlich sicher, dass der Grund fuer Universal Services den Vertrag mit der Regierung (eine eigentlich sichere Einnahmequelle fuer die) nicht zu verlaengern ist, dass sie die Haeuser fuer MEHR VERMIETEN WOLLEN, ALS DIE REGIERUNG WILLIG IST ZU ZAHLEN. Das wuerde logischerweise bedeuten, dass wir NICHT IN DER LAGE SIND, das Haus mit dem bisschen Geld, dass WIR VON DER REGIERUNG BEKOMMEN zu bezahlen.
Das heisst so ziemlich, dass wir uns was Neues suchen duerfen... Ich bin ziemlich ungluecklich darueber, denn in dieses Haus hab ich mich verliebt und mich schon heimisch gefuehlt und jetzt wird es uns wieder weggenommen... Ich mein, die Army laesst einen schon oft genug umziehen, das war echt net noch notwendig!
Und ausserdem: Die anderen Regierungs Housings sind beschissen!!!
Bin gespannt, wann unsere Pechstraehne ENDLICH mal endet :-(
